Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

This was the first Mother’s Day without my Mom. It didn’t seem the same, however in her memory I worked in my yard taking care of the many plants and flowers she had given me over the years. It brought back many happy memories and I think I will continue to do this each and every year on Mother’s Day. I hope you enjoyed time with your Mother or spent the day with family and friends.

Here is a card I sent to a very dear friend. She called to say she loved it! I love to send unexpected surprises in the mail. You never know when you when you will brighten someones day.

I used a variety of products from StampingScrapping.com . I made my own background paper by stamping the focal image multiple times and coloring them in with Copic Markers. Below is the list of supplies used:

Spellbinders™ Die Templates: S4-162 Labels Two, S4-189 Labels Three, S4-114 Standard Circles SM, StampingScrapping.com What-a-Swirl stamp set, Arched Lattice Border punch JustRite Stampers JB-09175 Breath of Spring, Copic Markers: BV-11, 13 G-94, Y-32, 35 and Air Compressor with BG-10.

Enjoy!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

I’m still among the living. I’ve been busy working on the last of my Spellbinders Design Team projects. I can’t believe how fast this year has flown by. A new design team will take over on April 1 and I know they will inspire us to create wonderful things. Also, I’ve been working on a few classes that I’ll be teaching in the near future. In the meantime here’s a Spring project featured in the Spellbinders Gallery.

Spellbinders™ supplies used: S4-248 Labels Thirteen, S4-263 Easter Fun, S4-264 Nested Eggs, S4-237 Easter Borderabilities.

Enjoy!

CHA Bound!

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

I can’t believe it’s that time of the year! I’ll be heading to Anaheim  on Friday to help in the Spellbinders™ Paper Arts booth. Myself and nine other Design Team Members will be demonstrating the new dies templates as well as a few other goodies soon to be released.

I will do my best to post photos if I can get my hands on a computer. I believe a few of the other girls will have a laptop  and I may be able to use one of theirs. If not I’ll do my best to post when I return. Be sure to check out the other Design Team members blogs I’m sure they will be updating as they can.

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments on my Spellbinders™ Surprise Party Reveal. I’m still new to blogging and have yet to reply to everyone who left a comment. I do appreciate you visiting my blog and hope I inspire you with my designs.

Here is a project from the Spellbinders™ Gallery. I re-purposed one of the original JustRite Stampers boxes. They used to package their stamp sets in the nicest boxes. I covered the box with various papers, stamped a few images on the lid and added a focal embellishment on top of the box. I then made coordinating thank you cards. Wouldn’t this make a great gift?

I used Spellbinders™ die templates S4-114 Standard Circles LG #1 (with #1 being the smallest), S4-116 Standard Circles SM #4, S4-230 Labels Six #2, 3, 5, 6, S4-207 Kaleidoscope Pendant (center and accent), S4-216 Kaleidoscope Borderabilities™ Petite (continuous cut border)

I2-1009 Flourish Impressabilities™

You can see how quick and easy these cards are to make. You could even make different sentiment labels to include in the gift box for the recipient to choose from when sending a card.

Happy_Spring

Now that all of the technical stuff is out of the way, let me share with you the project I created using Spellbinders™ Die Templates S4-264 Nested Eggs and S4-237 Easter Borderabilities® Petite both are part of the Easter Collection, Limited Edition, manufactured through 5/31/10.

You will need; ribbon of your choice, a piece of printer paper cut to 5 x 7″ and Adhesive Sheets from SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES by 3L. Cover the 5 x 7″ printer paper with the adhesive sheet. Remove liner sheet to expose adhesive, place on paper, remove the remaining liner and cover adhesive with ribbon.

Place on the Spellbinders™ W-022 White Master Mat with the ribbon side facing up.  This way you can see where your die will be cutting. Next, place Spellbinders™  S4-264 Nested Eggs #5 die template (with #1 being the smallest) on top of ribbon with cut side down, smooth side up. Then layer the Spellbinders™ W-024 Magnetic Spacer Plate with magnet side down, White Master Mat. Run through Spellbinders™ Wizard™ at least two times. You may need to make extra passes depending on how thick your ribbon is.

Now flip your ribbon paper over and reposition the Spellbinders ™ S4-264 Nested Eggs #5 die template over the cut line. Run through Spellbinders™ Wizard™ two more times. This helps cut through the ribbon on both sides.

Great results! Ribbon egg with no fraying.

Now, cut/emboss one border from white cardstock using Spellbinders™ S4-237 Easter Borderabilities® Petite#1 die template.

To emboss, place die template with paper side up on White Master Mat, then a Tan Embossing Pad, then the second White Master Mat.                                  Run through Spellbinders™ Wizard™.

Use a foam mat with a piercing tool or push pin to poke holes in the border.

Cut/Emboss a second Spellbinders™ S4-237 Easter Borderabilities® Petite die template #1 from a 2 x 5 1/2″ piece of pattern paper, save the top, bottom and tulip stem. Also known as the negative pieces.

Card measures 6 x 5 1/2″. I used a 12 x 5 1/2″ piece of Core’dinations Izmir Purple cardstock. Adhere bottom border piece on card front, then white border, then top border piece. Distress card edges with sanding block. Embellish with ribbon.

Cut/Emboss one Spellbinders™ S4-133 Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large #5 die template  from white cardstock, stamp sentiment in lower right corner with black ink. Adhere to card front with 3D Foam Squares.

Color embossed tulips on border with Copic Markers BV00 and YG01. Cut Spellbinders™ S4-237 Easter Borderabilities® Petite die template #1 from various colors of cardstock for the butterflies and flower. Adhere Ribbon Egg and assemble as shown with 3D Foam Squares.
