Flowers in Bloom

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

I’m back from CHA and I don’t know where the past two weeks have gone. While I  was at the show I took my camera to take lots of photos of the new and exciting products. However, I  had my camera on the wrong setting so none of the photos could be used. By now I’m sure you have seen all of the new goodies on various blogs and websites. I think it’s time to start wearing my reading glasses around my neck!

On to my project. I was able to bring home a few of the new punches from McGill Inc. while I was at the show. I made a card featuring some of the New Paper Blossoms punches that McGill Inc. introduced at the show. These punches are designed to create all varieties of  flowers using just a few punches. Each of the punches comes with an idea booklet with projects you can recreate. In addition to the Paper Blossoms punches McGill also introduced a Tool Kit and Craft Molding Mat to make these flowers super easy to make.

I chose to make a Peony for this card.

Cindy over at StampingScrapping.com uploaded the videos from McGill Inc. on how to make four flowers using the new Paper Blossoms punches. Go check them out and see how easy it is to make the flowers.

Celebrate July 4th

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Sorry it’s been a while since I last posted. Summer vacation has kept us busy the past few weeks!

I used JustRite Stampers, Spellbinders ™ die templates, a Cuttlebug embossing folder and a border punch from Martha Stewart to create this card. It came together rather quickly and can be adapted to any theme.

Supplies used: JustRite Stampers: JB-08735 Calendar Border and Centers, JB-08790 Just a Note Borders and Centers, JB-0808 Special Occasion Font. Spellbinders™ Die Templates: S4-114 Standard Circles LG, S4-116 Standard Circles SM, S4-115 Petite Scalloped Circles LG, S4-138 Petite Ovals LG, S4-141 Petite Scalloped Ovals SM. Provo Craft: 37-1911 Stars Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. EKSuccess: Star Edge Punch.

I used the stars from the border punch, added them to a few stars on the embossed cardstock and embellished them with rhinestones.

I hope you have a wonderful July 4th celebration!

Enjoy!

Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

This was the first Mother’s Day without my Mom. It didn’t seem the same, however in her memory I worked in my yard taking care of the many plants and flowers she had given me over the years. It brought back many happy memories and I think I will continue to do this each and every year on Mother’s Day. I hope you enjoyed time with your Mother or spent the day with family and friends.

Here is a card I sent to a very dear friend. She called to say she loved it! I love to send unexpected surprises in the mail. You never know when you when you will brighten someones day.

I used a variety of products from StampingScrapping.com . I made my own background paper by stamping the focal image multiple times and coloring them in with Copic Markers. Below is the list of supplies used:

Spellbinders™ Die Templates: S4-162 Labels Two, S4-189 Labels Three, S4-114 Standard Circles SM, StampingScrapping.com What-a-Swirl stamp set, Arched Lattice Border punch JustRite Stampers JB-09175 Breath of Spring, Copic Markers: BV-11, 13 G-94, Y-32, 35 and Air Compressor with BG-10.
