Now that I’m home and back to creating, I gave my studio a quick cleaning and revamped a few things.
I still need to embellish the word “SCRAPBOOK” over the cabinet. I’m just to busy at the moment to do so. One of these days I’ll get around to doing that. I do at least have them painted white for the time being. I added magnetic sheets to the cabinet doors to keep my Spellbinders ™ Border Die Templates organized and easy to reach. The drawers on the left side have my adhesives, Spellbinders™ Die Templates an 12×12 paper. The drawers to the right have my acrylic blocks, punches, tools and various bulky supplies. To the left and right of my desk is a paper tower which I have organized by brand and theme.
I have ribbon and various embellishments organized by color above my desk.
The top shelf has mostly clear stamps and cling mount stamps in plastic cases from Inque Boutique.
The middle shelf has Copic markers and refills, JustRite Stamps, mini alphabet stamps, Sizzix alphabets, clear and mini alphabet stamps as well as mini ink cubes.
This is my “die cut center”. I have my Wizard and cutting mats right at my finger tips. I used to do all of the cutting on my desk but that becomes too messy and I can’t find a thing. In the cabinet below is where I keep my Accucut dies, embossing folders, texture plates and other die related items. I have the big die cut machine in another room. It takes up the entire counter top and since I only use it once in a while there is no need in taking up valuable work space. The spinner to the right holds my ribbon and wood mounted stamps.
Next, are my Iris carts filled will all types of supplies. I have everything from ink pads, embossing powder, blank cards, envelopes, punches, gel pens, watercolors, cardstock and so much more hidden in these useful carts. I actually stacked two together to make them as tall as they are.
Below, I labeled ink pads with their name and number. On each label I put a dot by the name if I have the re-inker. Some of the refill bottle caps are flat and I used a fine tip Sharpie to write the color number on top. This way I can find the color to match the pad that needs re-inking. Now, I know there is always an on going debate as to how to store your ink pads. I keep my pigment inks on their side so I can see the color name when I’m working on a project. Also, instead of keeping a list of pads and refills I already own, I keep a running list of items I need to buy. That way I don’t have to carry long lists of items to look over while I’m shopping in a store or at a convention. I cross off any items I purchase as I put them in my basket.
In the next drawer, I wrote the name of the embossing powder on sticker paper. Then using a circle punch I punched out the names and adhered them to the lids.
Theses are just a few of the drawers I photographed just to give you an idea of one way to organize our supplies. You can see previous photos here.
I’ll try to add more photos soon but I must get back to making my Christmas cards.
Enjoy!
